About Antigravity
Antigravity is Google's next-generation AI-native IDE, designed from the ground up with Gemini embedded into every aspect of the development experience. Built on a heavily modified fork of Visual Studio Code, it offers a familiar interface while prioritizing agent management as the primary interaction model.
Its defining feature is how deeply Gemini is woven into the entire workflow: completions, inline chat, code editing, multi-file refactoring, and agentic coding all flow through a unified Gemini integration. The context window is one of the largest available in any IDE, supporting up to 2 million tokens — allowing Antigravity to reason about massive codebases without manually scoping context.
Platform support is notably broad: macOS, Windows, Linux, and ChromeOS. Built-in Google Cloud integration (Cloud Run, Cloud Build, Firestore) makes it a natural fit for teams already in the Google ecosystem. The editor also supports third-party models like Claude and offers a powerful agent mode capable of managing multiple agents simultaneously from a centralized mission control view.
Antigravity is still in public preview but has already made waves in the developer community, particularly around the "vibe coding" concept — using natural language instead of traditional code to build applications.
